Getting Your Perfect Smile With Minimal Tooth Movement

Minimal Tooth Movement®, or MTM®, could be perfect if your smile isn’t exactly what you would like it to be. MTM® uses a series of clear plastic aligners to give you the grin that you have always wanted.

Unless you have major problems with your bite, which could require conventional brackets and wires, your crooked teeth could be straightened with MTM® if you have crowding or spacing issues. If your teeth are off center, tilt, tip or rotate contact Dr. Jack Ringer for a no obligation Minimal Tooth Movement® consultation. Teeth that look crowded or overlap can also benefit from MTM®.

Dr. Ringer explains that MTM® refers to simple movements of one tooth or a few teeth using a series of clear plastic aligners. With simple or minor movements, your teeth do not need to be moved too far, perhaps a millimeter, or two at the most. The MTM® clear plastic aligners that are used to close a gap or fix a tilted tooth can usually correct the issue in a few months, not a few years.

When you schedule an appointment with Dr. Ringer and Dental Cosmetics in Anaheim Hills for a gap between your teeth, he will determine if there is enough space in order to avoid a biting problem on your lower teeth. The roots of your teeth will also be checked to make sure that the positioning will allow for MTM®.

If you have a gap that you want closed Dr. Ringer will make sure there is no frond tissue, known as a frenum, or frenulum. The frenum runs into your upper lip and between your teeth and could be the reason for the tooth separation. Minor surgery may be recommended to remove the excess tissue. The periodontal tissue, bone and gum tissue will be checked to make sure all are healthy enough for Minimal Tooth Movement®.

Dr. Ringer has the advanced orthodontic training in facial development and tooth straightening and can determine if MTM® is right for you.
