Complete Oral Health is a more comprehensive approach to what is typically known as "general dentistry". Rather then treating teeth in the traditional "patchwork" manner, complete oral care takes into consideration the condition, function and esthetics of ALL the teeth and gums as a whole. It is the patient's right and the dentist's responsibility to be informed about ALL their oral deficiencies and treatment options before therapy is engaged which allows the patient to make an informed decision about their oral care. Complete oral care involves not only evaluating and treating the teeth both functionally and esthetically, but the way a patient bites (occlusion), their soft tissue health (gums, lips, tongue), options for the replacement of missing (implants or bridges), and breathing disorders (snoring and sleep apnea). This module of the website describes and illustrates examples of these treatment modalities. |
